Best place to shop for women's gear?
« on: September 04, 2009, 05:25:24 PM »
I'm not looking for the cheapest place, because I know you get the best deals online. But I'm looking for the place that has the biggest selection of women's jackets, helmets, gloves, etc. to try on. Cycle Gear, at least in Orange, has a rather limited selection. I'm looking for the broadest selection of different manufacturers and styles.

Any suggestions?

wish i could help.  i stopped by new england cycle works in groton today to look at gear and they got nothing.  there a shop in stamford that has a good selection of gears.  its not huge but its pretty decent.  i need to find a place i can buy a hard back protector and some armored leather pants.

Motorsports Nation (the old Excalibur) might have a good selection. They've got a HUGE building full of stuff. It's not close for you but it might be worth the ride.

I went out to visit this place today and it wasnt what Id hoped for.  they have a ok selection of jackets gloves and helmets but a poor selection of boots, pants, rain gear.  practicly no racing gear which is why i went.  its kinda empty for such a big space.  i gota find somewhere else to try on gear before i order it.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't been in there since it became Motorsports Nation. I know when it was Excalibur it was LOADED with gear. Maybe the new owner is trying to manage his money a little better than Excalibur did, we see where it got them.

Yeah that place is WAY over kill for a motorcycle shop. That was built RIGHT before the economy went in the crapper, when people were buying everything like money was burning a hole in their pockets. Times have changed now, a one floor building would be more than enough.

Excalibur and online has been where I have found all mine. The Cycle Gear in Vernon has some stuff but still not a whole lot. What exactly are you looking for?

Thanks for the input folks. She was looking primarily for a jacket, but also gloves. But then after I posted on here (and another site), she goes and orders it online.

I've been to the cycle gear in Vernon. I've only bought a pair of gloves there. They've got quite a bit of stuff there, not sure if it's womens stuff though.

The CycleGear in Vernon does carry somewomens gear but not a whole lot.
The one in Orange seems to have more in the womens department but still......mediocre
