Calling all FJR owners
« on: March 21, 2018, 08:14:04 AM »
Learn me on the different model years.
The bike looks almost the same as it's first year.
I know there were many changes over the years.
Is the 2018 same as the 2017?  How about the 2016 & 2015?
Do they all have cruise control and ABS now?
Is the ES worth it or is regular suspension good enough?

A=standard
AE=DCT Type Transmission

2001-2005    Generation 1 (no ABS) 5 Speed
2006-2012    Generation 2 (ABS)
2013-2014    Generation 2.5 (ABS) 6 Speed
2015-2018    Generation 3 (ABS and Cruise Control) (ES - Electronic Suspension)

That's the basics. The fit and form is pretty much the same.

Lots of information in the FJR Forum

and if you drop the clutch fast enough you can still get the front wheel of the ground.

...

On all years the front has two adjustments (preload and dampening), and the rear only has preload on the shock and a "Soft" or "Hard" setting level near the seat.
I have talked to people who love the ES and other who are like, Meh

So any 2016 or 17, A or ES is the same as the 2018 except for the color?
