New Rider in Eastford - Could use a buddy!
« on: October 06, 2017, 10:48:19 AM »
Hello!

I'm a newbie rider in Eastford. I got my license last year, but haven't put any real miles on the road. I've got a 1981 Honda CB750, and a 1982 Yamaha Heritage Special. The Yamaha has bad compression and smokes like a beast - it's not exactly ride-able - it's a winter fix project for sure. It's a smaller project bike I picked up, because honestly, the 750 was a bit out of my league as a new rider, and I wanted to get something I could handle a little easier and wasn't afraid to tinker with.

I want to get the 750 out more, but worry that if I drop it somewhere while riding alone I'll be SOL.  I'd like to find a bike buddy who'd be willing to ride with a noob and would also be down to work on bikes from time to time. I want to learn more about bike repair and would much appreciate an experienced advice. Happy to help with any projects you might have as well!

If you're interested, or have advice on meeting other bikers in the area let me know.

-D

The biggest, most organized of the groups around here is New England Riders.  Be sure to check them out too!

Don't worry Jeff, I probably won't be on the roads any time soon, and if I am I'll be on the back roads going slow.

Thats OK, I know Jeff will find you there, and on some roads that aren't roads.   :poke:
