OK, put 7/28 to 7/30 on my calendar.  Kim- you seeing this?
I'm not married to any particular route, happy with VT, Upstate NY, just about anything else that passes the beer and bbq test.
I think I'm good for the 28-30th.
I know I have commitments both the weekend before and the weekend after.
Checked with the family and I am in, time to start  new thread.  Decided to ride to Mt Greylock tomm.

New thread

So who else is in?
My goal in life is to be the kind of person my dogs think I am.

Take a look at the August Roadrunner.
** Lakes to Lochs ride
**somebody recently published a Catskill loop too, but the bbq in the Catskills leaves something to be desired.

Upstate NY is loaded with great bbq though.
Any thought to the path to take?  Would help me localize places to eat.

I was at Brooks BBQ in Oneonta, NY Saturday. I'm no experT but it's pretty good. Ray Brothers BBQ
on US-20 in Bouckville, NY is good, too.

That would fit in very nicely with a ride up to lake george/lake champagne.

Brooks is highly rated.  HGow would yo compare it too BT in Sturbridge?  That is the gold standard.

I've never been to any BBQ in Mass.  I'm a fan of Bears. I like Bears more than Brooks but mostly because of the atmosphere.  Brooks seems like an old Family restaurant with a lunch counter. Lots of seniors and kids.

Personally, I'd rather miss lake George as it's just too many people in the summer.
Run up west side of Vermont, take the ferry across to ny to breakup the ride, just a suggestion!

The route in Road Runner goes up US 4 and Rt 22, not crossing over until Ticonderoga.

The Roadrunner route is pretty much US-4; 22; US 9N; 22; US 9
It starts in Troy, and for those who remember, US4 in Troy is a real pit.

I would be inclined to head east to west on either VT 9 or Mohawk Trail (or Mohawk to VT 9)

I like the thought of Mohawk to 9!

Actually it's up 7 from Williamstown MA.
Go further up into VT and we can cross over at Charlotte to Essex on the Ferry.

was thinking some version of this:

Looks like a plan for Saturday, or we do the lower route on Friday and the Upper part Sat or Sunday.   :)
