Based on that review, I'd be buying the Honda 500!

I think the Honda 500 has the longest legs in the "intro" class, the Kawi 500 used to play that role, but they let it languish.

Lack of competition will do that to you.  Up until a couple of years ago, no one really bulit anything in the sport class less than 600cc so Kawi had the market to themselves.  I think Honda realized what we have all already known, as gas prices go up, more people are turning to bikes for fun and savings, so they're starting to tap into that economical market niche.  Or, at least that is what I'm thinking.

If I were buying a cruiser, it would be the Guzzi 1400. Absolutely beautiful looking bike!

I've looked at those online. I just couldn't really find a convenient place to look at them in person. The fully decked out touring model is the one I would have considered.

Joel- that is why we go to the NY motorcycle show each year.  You get to see about everything.  We do Friday, much less crowded.

Nice tone to the video.  In fact, not a "shootout" but a decent evaluation of the salient strengths and weaknesses of each model.  The video didn't even proclaim a "winner."  Even the accompanying article (which I browsed)--which did annoint a "winner"--didn't seem to push the victor-and-losers angle very much.  A nice change from the phony "cutthroat fight-to-the-death" tone many publications concoct in their bike-comparison articles.

I did get my front off the ground in either 1st or second gear when going form highway shoulder to highway.  SV torque comes on very low in the rev range.
