I figured I'd give this one try by myself before either using professional help (people have often said I should seek professional help) or just leaving the ding covered up. I bought the $20 Billy Mays Ding King and I had a few CO2 cartridges around to try the freeze method. The ding was pretty bad though, so I had low expectations.

At the start, the old American flag patch covering the dents:

The flag peeled right off, the glue did not, but was responsive to a fingernail.

The dent is fairly well set, with two smaller dings alongside.

The Billy Mays kit came with a glue scraper, and acetone to clean the area, which also was very effective on the glue.

The kit:

I mounted the pulling lever, which is attached to the ding with hot glue.

5 tries, no luck,so a new flag went on. >:(
