I'm interested as well. I got caught on Friday, and It would be nice to stay dry next time.

Until I have the extra money for some real gear, I have been making do with a paddling jacket that I had from kayaking and wind/rain pants.

Like I've said before, I'm in love with my Illuminite raincoat.  It's well made in every respect.  Illuminite pants are black, and I try to stay away from dark colors, especially when it rains.  They are reflective at night, of course.  On the bottom I wear yellow plastic overalls that my dad stole from the phone company in 1968.  They are probably older than a lot of the guys on this site!  I only buy Gore-Tex anytime I'm trying to stay dry and that includes my boots.  I don't have riding boots, just the regular steel toe ones that I use for woodcutting.

I do not wear my gloves anymore when it rains because I did that on the 4th of July on the way to my mom's where I had grill duty.  Some folks were not too keen on getting their burger from the guy with the blue hands!

I'm gonna have to assess options. I didn't ride today due to the chance of T-Storm in the morning. When I checked the radar, it was iffy.. and I'd rather not start my day of work all wet.

Thanks for the recommendation, Bumpky. :D

I used to use 30% chance of rain as my cutoff point, but now I pretty much ride rain or shine unless it's really pouring or they're saying lightning.

I ride anyway, if the chance is in the afternoon. When its in the morning, I check the radar before I leave. If it looks like I might get wet, I take my car :(

Figures cause its beautiful out right now.

I put about 500 miles on my FirstGear Rainman pants and jacket on my trip up north. Nothing but good things to say about it. We rode through torrential downpours and I didnt get a tiny bit wet. My dad has thousands of miles logged using the same gear and he also loves it. The stuff is very reasonable and not the throw away qaulity like a lot of them are. Its worth a look IMO. Good luck.

It's okay.  I took the bike this morning and stayed dried.  The sun came out, and now it is going to storm for my ride home tonight.

Thanks to a plastic garbage bag that I used to cover my seat and filters, I made it home completely dry.  Another storm avoided.  ;D

Heh. Nice one. Last Friday I had to make a sacrifice, and use the garbage bag on my laptop that was in my backpack. It survived the storm :)
