General Chat / Soliciting donations for Make a Wish
« on: August 08, 2013, 09:39:01 AM »
Here is the deal. Most of you guys know I'm a beer guy. J.Timothys in Plainville hosts an event called Wings for Wishes. At it's core, it's a wing eating competition. But really, it's about raising money for Make a Wish.

One of the guys on my team is a childhood cancer survivor, and a wish recipient. As if the cause isn't enough, it has motivated our team to raise as much as humanly possible.

Each team raises money, and the team with the most donations automatically goes to the finals. We are narrowly in the lead, and I thought some of you might like to help out.

100% of the money goes to Make a Wish, and of course it is tax deductible.

Should you want to watch the festivities, 7pm tonight is our playoff. $10 MAW donation at the door to get in, beer and delicious food is available of course.

Should you feel generous, here is the link to support my team: www.ctbrewcrew.com

Thanks all.
Jay

Forum Talk / Database work
« on: June 13, 2013, 07:22:11 AM »
In its infinite wisdom, our host is deactivating MySQL4.0 next week, giving me less than a week to completely migrate all the data over to 5.0

I'll probably attempt to tackle it this weekend. Obviously this would have been preferred during the off season, but there isn't much I can do about it. If you plan on riding and need contact info, please exchange ahead of time, as site availability may be affected.

The method I'm planning on using should be a seamless transfer, but who the hell knows. Database admin has been a nightmare in the past.

Just a heads up.

Not really sure what the downtime was. But I couldn't log into anything, server-wise.

We're back now, whatever it was.

Motorcycle Related / Any interest in my bag setup?
« on: December 05, 2012, 11:25:13 AM »
Cortech small tank bag.

Tailbag and saddlebags.  On my phone, so pictures are a pain, but they are in the gallery. 4 total bags.

Things are just sitting here while I don't have a bike.

Make an offer. :)

Politics / The debates: what did you think?
« on: October 16, 2012, 11:26:23 PM »
Let's keep this civil.

Personally, I don't think either of them are right fit for the office. Still have to pick the lesser evil. Obama coming out in favor of another AWB isn't putting him in my good graces, however.

Forum Talk / Attacked
« on: July 07, 2012, 03:59:12 PM »
I don't know if any of you experienced the down time earlier today. I didn't get an email, and I usually get pinged when there is a problem.  :P

We were attacked early this morning. I got it back up and running lickety-split. No losses. Maybe the attackers should try harder next time.

I don't know, but I can't imagine his followers would take a liking to it. I watched Obama's statement, while loading my spare magazines...

Bike Chat / Let's buy a bike!
« on: April 26, 2011, 08:24:16 AM »
I'm in the market soon. I just need final word from the mortgage broker, and I'll be riding off in the sunset.

So, help me find a bike! My budget is $7500 MAX. Obviously cheaper is better. At this point in time, I plan on keeping my Kat, but that may change after I get the new bike, who knows. Basically I'm just saying I don't need to sell if I don't want to.

I do a significant amount of commuting, so I'm thinking a 600/750 would be best. I'm actually leaning toward the 600, for gas savings.
2007 or newer GSXR. I'm going to be fairly critical of this buy, since I can afford to be ;)
For the right price, I'll look at an 848, since I really like those.

Want to help me find something?
